Head of Manufacturing Operations (f/m/d)
Establishes and executes the manufacturing project plan and continually seeks opportunities to improve performance in delivering products on time, amount, quality and budget. Provides technical support to the project leads and ensures the transfer of new processes and technical solutions. Manages technical risks throughout the development and technology transfer process ensuring successful program management. Is responsible for staffing and financial resources to successfully maximize the business unit capabilities to meet future requirements. Develops and mentors direct reports providing constructive feedback, goal setting and monitoring performance on a routine basis, and ensuring that overall project goals are on track. Cultivates a collaborative workspace creating accountability, integrity and teamwork. Continually seeks opportunities to ensure customer satisfaction, not only delivering on time. Proactively and independently works with other managers and department heads to resolve conflicts. Substantial interest and experience in developing a strong partner network.
University degree in natural sciences or technical studies, and preferably a doctorate. Profound experience in Biotech, Pharma or Medical industry with focus on developing solutions and products. Proven experience in automated manufacturing processes under GxP and regulatory requirements. Proven track record of translating new product ideas into project plans and executing them by assigning resources as well as tracking project progress towards milestones and deadlines. Knowledge in lean manufacturing (e.g., Green Belt, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, or other). Demonstrated leadership, and talent development capabilities, with great ability to lead cultural and transformation initiatives and to create positive work environment. Preferably experience in current LNP applications, challenges, and strong desire to bring forward new innovative mRNA technologies. Data-driven decision-making based on manufacturing analytics to ensure quality, performance, reduce costs and optimize the supply chain. The ideal candidate is experienced in the development of manufacturing processes and analytical methods for the production of mRNA formulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to examine information in detail in order to set priorities. Fluent in English (German is a plus).
